Probably Too Much Information About Lids
December 21, 2025
If you were wondering how many types of lids there were to Tupperware containers in 1982, I can help with that. There were five: Classic Round Seals, Instant Seals, Square Rounds (Rectangular and Square Seals), Push-Button Seals, and Duo-Seal Closures. How do I know? Because I found a brochure documenting them in yet another box stack of stuff I was boxing up. I’m not sure where it came from; probably my mom or Mr. K’s mom got it and hung onto it. If I knew who Wanda Mims was (her name and phone number, without area code) is stamped on the back page) that would help; there are surprisingly a lot of them who come up in a Google search.
But wait, there’s more: step by step instructions for applying, removing, and even cleaning each type.
And now, four decades later, Tupperware is bankrupt, but still operating. Not sure how many types of lids/seals there are now.
