Mr. Karen and I had the real estate agents and their photographer here this morning to take pictures for the listing when our condo goes up for sale next week. I don’t remember being around for the picture taking when we sold our house in Michigan; I think we might have been in Idaho by then. I was surprised, but probably should not have been, that they did video as well, first flying a drone around outside then doing some indoor shots with the real estate ladies acting out various scenarios to show what a great time one can have in our condo. I just did a lot of hiding in various places in my house so I wouldn’t be in the shots (still or moving).

There was some question about whether the weather would cooperate with the shoot, but it did, and they got it in before the rain and mist showed up. I was sort of hoping they’d have to postpone so I’d have more time to get ready (everywhere I look I see something else that could/maybe should be done), but now that it’s done and they said it looked good, I’m glad it’s behind us. The early snow we had has almost all been washed away by rain, but they tell me they can add snow with AI now. To which, grrrrr, but I guess if it helps people envision it in a good winter who might otherwise pass over us that’s not the same as stealing art from human creators.

Now we just need to keep the house clean and decluttered for the next however long it takes to sell the place. Could be soon, could be later. Just depends on when the right buyer happens along, someone with enough money to afford it and enough whimsy to appreciate the vibe, which is definitely not minimalist or neutral. The agents appreciate it, so hoping they can manifest that in buyers as well.

Finishing with one of the changes we made to get ready: a new mat inside the front door. We couldn’t find anything locally that was the right size and had an interesting pattern, and we couldn’t wait for anything to get shipped to us, so we got four of these smaller floral mats and Mr. Karen attached them to each other with wire.
