All is Calm

I’m the first one awake at my sister-in-law Kathy’s house this morning (my brain decided six hours was enough sleep) and decided to get up and shower rather than lounge in bed as is my usual practice at home (there are five people taking turns in one guest shower, with two more folks coming today, so I figured I’d get clean while the getting was good). While I’m not a morning person, I can appreciate the quiet and calm before the whirl of holiday activity ramps up. The weather is dreary, which seems to invite staying inside with family today. But first, solo contemplation of whether Mr. K and I will be able to find a new house in this area that clicks for us … we likely won’t match Kathy’s expansive view if we insist on other things we also want, like project space for both of us, and features to let us age in place. But it’s so early in our search still; perhaps I’ll be surprised at what we find.
