For years, taking a headache powder has been my go to for a stubborn morning pain in my brain. When I was working, I had more days like those, but still occasionally as a retired person I need the extra boost of some caffeine-containing pain reliever. The last time I looked to buy a new box, my grocery store no longer carried them. Mr. Karen looked at the big grocery store down in the city for me, and all he was able to find was a store brand rather than Goody’s or BC. That would have been fine, except these new ones come packaged in such a way that it’s a pain to open them. No more folded packets of waxed paper that are easy to open and easy to pour from. Instead, it’s these little metallic plastic sleeves that in theory one can tear open but in practice never rip cleanly across the whole width, so either I have to cut them with a scissors (fine if I’m at home, less so when I’m not) or take two or more tries and use my teeth. It’s annoying. I guess I’ll have to see if the internet can provide the old style headache powder packaging. Or find some pills with the same composition, but that’ll hit different.
