Today I have another few photos that didn’t make the photo diary entries in their respective months.
In July, I snapped this fuchsia plant in a hanging basket on Kathy’s porch as Mr. K and I got ready to leave after our short visit on which we took our first steps to scope out the real estate market there, planning ahead for when we’d make our move from Idaho. Now we’re here having decided when is soon. Seeing this color is a good reminder that it’s not always grey and rainy like it has been most of the time since we’ve been here on this visit.
Sometimes when I’m sad about something that gets broken, I take a photo before it gets thrown out, like this Eeyore drinking glass that shattered in August. I don’t remember now who broke it or how or where or when I got this glass (not at a Disney park, I’m pretty sure). Looking at this now, yes I do miss the glass but it’s not painful to see it; we have plenty of other glasses I like, too. I also see how dirty the countertop was … that texture catches and stores grime; to get it clean for the listing, I used a couple products and lots of scrubbing and elbow grease.
In September (September 10th to be exact), I spotted egg nog at the grocery store. On the one hand, that’s way too early. Egg nog is for Christmas, or at least colder weather. Early September is not particularly cold, even in north Idaho. Having it way before it’s time makes it less special. On the other hand, the state of the country is awful and if having egg nog in September brings a spot of joy to people, why not have it.
