A Week in Photos: 2023, Part 51

December 26, 2023

Monday, December 18: Got my 2023 COVID booster shot. I’d been considering trying to get the Novavax, as I’ve read some things that seem to point to it giving a different, perhaps better, type of protection, but I couldn’t find it locally and didn’t want to wait any longer, so got the Pfizer.

Tuesday, December 19: Had a little bit of snow overnight, then it got warm again and the snow turned to rain and the accumulation on my windshield started to melt and slithered down the glass, forming interesting shapes.

Wednesday, December 20: Had dinner in town with Mr. Karen. The place we’d planned to try based on reading about it in one of the local publications turned out to have closed permanently, so we ended up at a place we’d been to before, but not for a while. They had decorated this old tractor out front with white lights for the holidays.

Rusty tractor with two flat front tires parked on gravel in front of a building. There are white Christmas lights strung around the tractor but it's hard to see them as it's not dark outside.

Thursday, December 21: I went skiing. Enjoyed seeing this snow person built by the parking lot attendants as we walked to the slopes.

Friday, December 22: I hung out around the house and took care of things like changing the sheets. It was the orange set’s turn on the big bed. They’re more red-leaning than the orange fabrics in the quilt but I can live with that. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen yellow orange sheets, though they must exist somewhere.

Saturday, December 23: Got a few inches of snow overnight. It at least looks more wintery than it did, but it wasn’t enough for the resort to re-open the beginner area.

Sunday, December 24: Took a walk around the neighborhood with Mr. Karen and paused to admire the view at the end of a street.
