Definitely Winter Now

December 26, 2021

One of my favorite ways to ease into the day is going downstairs and sitting sideways on the couch, looking out the window at the mountain. This week, we’ve had so much snow that all I could see this morning was the chest high pile of the white stuff on the balcony outside. Special today, a topping of graupel.

Here’s what the pile looked like tonight out the other slider shortly before Mr. Karen leveled part of it with a shovel. This storm cycle is supposed to end tonight, so tomorrow we’ll clear the rest of this balcony and perhaps the smaller one upstairs and maybe even dig my car out of the pile it’s under in the driveway. But first, we’ll ski. Because that’s what makes dealing with all this snow worthwhile.
