Lights of Winter

December 27, 2015

One nice thing about the long hours of darkness this time of year is it gives me ample opportunity to stare out the window at our Christmas lights on the balcony. You may recall them from my Christmas Eve entry, when they looked like this, with a wave of snow curling down from the railing.

Glowing

On Christmas they looked like this, with the snow drooping a little lower.

Rainbow snow wave

By tonight, things were looking a little raggedy (both with the snow and with my photo composition) but still pretty. We need some more snow to freshen things up, but there isn’t anything significant in the forecast for at least the next few days.

Drooping

I don’t know when we’ll take the lights down. Ephiphany, maybe. Or maybe later, like spring. I’ll enjoy them however long we decide to keep them up.
