Monday, October 5: Spent the whole day traveling even though it was a direct flight from Denver to Seattle. Had to drive an hour to the airport as I was staying on the other side of the metro area, gas up and return the rental car, take the shuttle to the terminal, check in my bag, wait in a long line for security, take the train to the concourse (I forgot to look for the walking route … there was some construction going on that had that post-security area messed up anyway). Then I could relax before my flight, which I did partly sitting in one of these very spacious chair booths and partly at a Quizno’s, something I hadn’t eaten in years but it tasted as good as I’d remembered. The flight was fine (and my seatback screen worked this time unlike on the flight down) and I found my car in where I’d parked it and just tried to be patient with traffic through Seattle (and north of Seattle) and made it home at a fairly reasonable hour. Mr. Karen was back from his solo road trip so we spent the evening catching up.
Tuesday, October 6: I decided to start my day with a walk on the property on this misty morning.
Wednesday, October 7: Enjoyed my morning walk enough the previous day to do it again. The little pond has more water in it now thanks to recent rains.
Thursday, October 8: Walked first thing again in the morning, this time to the mailbox at the highway since we’d forgotten to collect the mail the day before. The riding club has some small enclosures to turn horses out into (have only seen one with a horse in it one time) and the fences for those had drops of dew on them still.
Friday, October 9: Another morning, another walk. I didn’t make a resolution, just made a choice one day and have been making that same one for a few days since.
Saturday, October 10: Walked again in the morning. Enjoyed the sunset in the evening.
Sunday, October 11: This morning’s walk took me on the trail behind the house, where I did more trimming of blackberry vines and such to keep the trail clear. At one point, I turned around and saw a deer down the trail looking at me.
