I played around for a while on Lumosity last night for the first time in a couple of years (I fell prey to an ad on Facebook). I let my paid subscription go after I retired, so I was only able to do a few games, but that was enough to make me wonder about the state of my brain. Were my low scores indicative of some deterioration, or was I simply out of practice for these particular games? Is the fact I can still come up with words like “indicative” with ease a sign that I have nothing to worry about at this point? I tried a few more games today; one wouldn’t work at all with our slow internet but I was able to do the other two. One went not so great, but I was never all that strong at that one, and the other went much better, so I’m holding onto that as reassurance that my brain is fine. Surely if it weren’t there would be more signs than not being able to pick up right where I left off on some computer exercises. That’s settled then. Now I can move on and worry about something else, like my joints and how long they’ll hold up.

I tried Lumosity a long time ago, but didn’t want to pay for it. I play “100! Puzzle” a lot, tho.
