Over a month since my previous Happy Color update due to I’m not sure what distractions specifically. Too much baseball watching maybe.

How Things Are Going Overall:

Since my previous update, I did do the iOS update. Just deleting a bunch of stuff like I’d done before wasn’t enough, even after I learned that deleting messages on an iPhone doesn’t delete them right away, but puts them in a recently deleted state like photos, so one has to clear that out as well. System data was a problem, but I found a way to shrink that by a lot (in a Reddit thread). I eventually freed up a touch more than the 13.99 gig the update said it needed. Of course, it wouldn’t download then either. So I did even more Googling and decided to try putting the Apple Device app on my newer laptop and plugging my phone into that and doing the update that way. This took so long that I thought it wasn’t going to work, but it did. Wish I’d done that in the first place since then I wouldn’t have had to uninstall and re-install Happy Color at all. Boo, but now I know for next time.

I did lose some of my progress on the daily return award with the reinstall, but as I’ve built days back up, when I’ve gotten the bonuses they come back colored if I’d already done them, so that’s okay. It also didn’t save my starred pics but I’d suspected that might be the case since it’s a new feature, so I screenshot them before I uninstalled.

The new version of Happy Color app indeed does not have checkmarks for finished categories (bit of a bummer but I’ll be fine). Also, now merely opening a pic doesn’t move it up in the in progress list, which is good because no need to rearrange my list if I mistakenly click on something but less good when want to both move things around and keep sections of them unfinished. Bonuses and awards are now marked with the appropriate symbols in the in process and they show up in search which those images didn’t used to unless already started, so those are both nice and now I’m wondering if I need to keep the bonus spreadsheet updated since I started it so I could search it for images to pair with dailies and such.
