Monday, July 20: Had a morning visitor grazing in the yard. She had a fawn with her that wasn’t as interested in the plants.

 
Tuesday, July 21: Made a trip to one of the Habitat stores and found a nightstand. I appreciated the effort someone made to decorate this piece with black and purple and gold and the bones are good so if I want to refinish it I can.

 
Wednesday, July 22: Moved some furniture into the apartment in the barn, spent some time wandering the property and picking some blackberries now that they’re starting to ripen, and enjoyed yet another beautiful sunset.

 
Thursday, July 23: Drove across Washington for another long weekend to see friends and get more stuff out of storage. Took a different route to avoid possible delays along the usual route (from a special event in a small town that draws a lot of people for a long weekend), which took me through the faux Bavarian town of Leavenworth, where even McDonald’s has to comply with the look.

 
Friday, July 24: Spent a good chunk of the day in the very warm studio finding and staging the stuff I wanted to bring back this time then hung out with friends in the city in the evening. In between, I took a break at my friend’s house where I was staying, including some couch time with their doggo.

 
Saturday, July 25: A whole day of much needed friend time, including a hang out at a bookstore across the street from Spokane’s first fire station (so tiny!). Love that it’s not been torn down despite being not in use as a fire station in nearly a century.

 
Sunday, July 26: Back to the studio to pack the car and check the mouse traps again … did find a mouse in one on Friday but no more on this day. One was easier to check with the phone camera. Never saw any mice in the years we had the storage/studio space before we moved, but one surprised us when Mr. Karen and I were loading the big truck a few weeks ago.
