A Week in Photos: 2025, Part 38
September 23, 2025
Monday, September 15: Got my flu and COVID vaccines. The pharmacist used this new type of bandage which she stuck on first and then did the shots right through the film in the center. Certainly eliminates the problem of knowing where to put the bandage after. I wasn’t entirely sure I’d be allowed to get the COVID shot, what with the malicious stupidity of the current US administration, but for once, being fat was an advantage.
Tuesday, September 16: I felt fine most of the day, just my arm a bit sore when I lifted it higher than my shoulder, but late in the afternoon started to feel feverish and fatigued, so tried napping for a bit then moved to the couch to wait it out there. Worth it to get the protection vaccines provide.
Wednesday, September 17: Back to normal and helped Mr. Karen get the sailboat out of the water for the season.
Thursday, September 18: Had some visitors in the side yard: a mule deer and her two not quite grown offspring. The smaller ones pictured below popped around from the back first; momma following a bit later.
Friday, September 19: Most important task of the day was choosing what to pack for an upcoming trip. About which I’m feeling conflicted, because it’s to Walt Disney World in Florida. We aren’t going to be staying on property, and we won’t be spending any more money on admissions since we have an annual pass we bought last fall, but still feels a bit icky.
Saturday, September 20: Another day spent with friends out on their ranchette, where this chicken came over to say hello (well, more like came over to see if I had food but still good to see).
Sunday, September 21: It was apparently World Gratitude Day, which I celebrated by coloring holiday-appropriate images in the Happy Color app.
On this date in 2003 through 2024: No journal entries
2002: Quilt Guild Virgin
