A Week in Photos: 2025, Part 27

July 15, 2025

Monday, June 30: Relaxing day with Kathy and Kent, including more touring the city, a stop at the frozen yogurt place, and seeing the new apartment that one of their sons recently moved to.

Cup of frozen yogurt with a segment of waffle, two maraschino cherries, rainbow sprinkles, and a turquoise plastic spoon with a cartoonish figure molded into the end of the handle.

Tuesday, July 1: Mr. K and I drove home. Stopped at the most picturesque rest area on the route. The sun wasn’t setting this time as it’s summer but still a nice open view.

Landscape with mostly brown grass and a blacktop path in the foreground, one tree leafed out in the right middle, and a reservoir in the distance.

Wednesday, July 2: Wildflowers by the side of the road as seen when out walking.

Red spiky blooms on green leaved stems.

Thursday, July 3: Time to re-blue my hair. Experimenting with some colors I got off the clearance table, which I maybe need to stop doing, since if they turn out nice, I’ll not be able to re-create this combination easily.

Three boxes of haircolor with clearance price tags on them.

Friday, July 4: Mr. Karen and I did something we’d never done before: watched fireworks from the sailboat. It did rain part of the time, which wasn’t ideal, but still glad we did it.

Two gold overlapping fireworks bursting over a body of water, with a sailboat railing in the foreground.

Saturday, July 5: Stopped my friend’s studio space in the city on the way to another friend’s birthday party to check on this pipe that had been leaking (the friend whose space it is was otherwise occupied on the holiday weekend but I was pretty much driving right by).

Black vertical pipe with a patched area secured by a metal ring. The floor is unfinished wood, also with a patch. The walls are mostly red brick with some black stone in one area.

Sunday, July 6: Took a walk down a street that had only one house on it when we bought ours; now almost all the lots are built on, with some in progress this summer. At least when they’re done there will be less construction traffic and noise.

Blacktop road with a house at the end, trees all around, and stacks of wood and construction materials at the sides of the pavement.
