Monday, October 6: Flew home from Denver. I allowed plenty of extra time to get to the airport since I didn’t know how city traffic and the rain that was falling would impact the drive, so I ended up in the terminal early and found a spot to relax a bit on the level above the main walkway. I took some photos of the mosaics on the floor below as I appreciate when details like that are included in public spaces; the juxtaposition of the real people and the tile people pleases me in this shot.
Tuesday, October 7: Feeling a bit under the weather so did a COVID/Flu test. Had been a while, so I’d forgotten that C is for Control, not COVID.
Wednesday, October 8: Woke up with a very swollen area on my gums near the tooth that had been bothering me for a few days, so off to the dentist I went to be told I had an infection and possibly some broken roots where I’d gotten a root canal years ago. Left with a prescription for antibiotic pills and special mouthwash and a referral to an endodontist.
Thursday, October 9: A segment of the main mountain road was closed; the detour was not out of my way, as it was re-routing everyone right past my condo. Fortunately not that much traffic this time of year.
Friday, October 10: State of the mountain, with the tamaracks just starting to turn a lighter green but far from the bright yellow they’ll be before long.
Saturday, October 11: Went down to the city to hang out with friends and saw this colorful mess of wet leaves in the street where I parked.
Sunday, October 12: Enjoyed watching the first serious snow of the season pile up before I left to stay in a hotel near the airport in the city so I’d be well positioned for an early flight the next morning.
