Monday, September 8: Clearest view we’ve had in a while.
Tuesday, September 9: Liminal space in a grocery store nearing midnight.
Wednesday, September 10: When the color depositing shampoo deposits more color than you expect, including on your pale pink treatment coat you’ve applied in hopes of getting your nails back in shape, highlighting where it’s peeling off.
Thursday, September 11: I still get stickers and address labels in the mail from various charities. I can’t keep them; I have plenty of both. But sometimes it’s hard to let them go, like this little bird and berries, which reminds me of my mom, who liked little birds.
Friday, September 12: I sometimes watch ads on Happy Color to get hints to find those stubborn tiny areas I need to fill in to finish pictures. Usually they’re for games or other products I don’t need, but this time it was for some sort of cleaner app, with this very scammy message telling me to click it. No freaking way was I going to click that. But I can see how someone would be tricked into it.
Saturday, September 13: Lost 45 minutes of my life to a construction backup, most of that sitting still. I did get to see some kids on the bus ahead of me having a dance party in the aisle at one point, so that was something.
Sunday, September 14: A screenshot is going to have to count as a photo today, as this Mary Poppins doll set from the 1960s that came up on my social media rang some bells. I know I had that case when I was little; I remember seeing it when my brother and I were cleaning out Mom’s house. Not sure whether I saved it … guess I’ll find out when we weed stuff out for our next move.
After I wrote this, I went looking and found that in 2017, I’d posted a photo of six year old me in the Mary Poppins costume my mom made me, carrying that same plastic carpetbag that’s in the screenshot:
