Monday, July 28: Went huckleberry picking with Mr. Karen. Took a tumble down a slope and stained my pants and ripped a couple new small holes in them, but didn’t lose any berries from my bag.
Tuesday, July 29: Saw these striking white flowers at the side of the road. Not sure if they’re a stage of a wildflower I’ve not seen before or some anomaly.
Wednesday, July 30: Today’s side of the road find: thimbleberries ripening.
Thursday, July 31: More construction in the neighborhood.
Friday, August 1: Went to a show at the music festival in town. Got lucky with the weather and while lines did get long for drinks and some of the food, we got lucky with timing that, too. Quite a pleasant experience. The main act was Kansas, a band we’ve been seeing for decades, though the personnel playing on this night were all different than the lineup in the early days.
Saturday, August 2: Took a lift ride just before they shut down for the day. Got to see a bride and groom riding back down from their mountaintop wedding (did not take their picture, just wished them congratulations as the passed us riding up).
Sunday, August 3: First signs of fall showing on some of the trees. Summer is short up here.
