A Week in Photos: 2025, Part 28

July 17, 2025

Monday, July 7: Weeds? Or wildflowers? Doesn’t matter, I’m taking a picture.

Clusters of yellow blossoms that resemble clover with green leaves in the background.

Tuesday, July 8: Drove down to the city to spend some time in my friend’s studio there. Happened to get stopped at a light where I could snap a photo of this sculpture (?) that I’ve driven by a lot but never had a chance to study. Also note the very colorful hotel in the background; I want to see more buildings like this.

View framed by drivers side window of a yellow-orange car. A small metal silo-looking tank is in a triangle of land between two roads. It's wrapped in colorful metal work depicting a bridge and buildings and smokestacks.

Wednesday, July 9: Home from my ladies group meeting on a hot steamy night. Sundress is one I kept from my mom’s wardrobe when my brother and I cleaned out her house after she passed in 2016; the cardigan is older than that.

Me, a white sixtysomething woman with long blue hair in a braid resting on one shoulder, shown from the chest up. Wearing glasses with a slight retro flair. Sundress is deep red violet. Cardigan is an open knit design with no buttons and short sleeves, tied in a knot under my bust.

Thursday, July 10: Sometimes the view is so pretty when I’m driving home that I have to stop in the pullout and take a picture.

Large lake at the bottom of a valley at night. The moon is orange and reflected in the water. Lights of a small city nestle along the lakeshore.

Friday, July 11: Sat out on the steps at the side of the house to paint my toenails. Blessed to have this view.

Low bushes and tall trees framing a view of a ski mountain in summer with a hint of blue sky.

Saturday, July 12: I didn’t quite get the focus right on this thistle picture, but it was still the best one I took all day.

Closeup of a thistle not quite in bloom though the purple tassels are there waiting to unfold.

Sunday, July 13: In contrast to Wednesday, when I put on makeup and got dressed up a bit, this day I stayed home bare-faced and looked like this at the end of the day. I’m hoping I’ll live long enough to look back at this and marvel at how young I looked when I was 63.

Me, a white woman with blue hair pulled back, looking at the camera and looking a bit tired.

On this date in 2021 through 2024: No journal entries
2020: How Many Steps is Too Many? [My routine has changed somewhat since then and maybe not for the better. Also wondering if it should have been “are” rather than “is” in that title.]
2011 through 2019: No entries
2010: Why Can’t the World Have a Pause Button? [I have visited Hawaii, and almost got to Australia and New Zealand before the pandemic nixed that, have pretty much stopped knitting at least for now, and no longer want a chauffeur.]
2002 through 2009: No entries

Nice photos and beautiful selfies. You have at least one fan who is marvelling at how great you look.

Aw, thank you so much, Billy. 🙂

I also have a dress that was my mother’s – she died 36 years ago and I’ve worn it on Easter the past two years. Until then I was too overweight to wear it but was able to lose 165 lbs and now it is too big for me! Your pictures are wonderful.
