I’m Dreaming of Igigi

January 30, 2014

Whenever I have a special event I need to get dressed up for, my first thought is Igigi. I’ve been fortunate to get several of their garments for review over the years and continue to wear them regularly. For instance, for the christening I mentioned in my last post, I wore the Paloma dress, which I’d gotten to review in 2012. I don’t have any photos of me from that day off my camera (and the person who does hasn’t posted them to Facebook yet), but here I am in the same dress nearly two years ago. For the christening, I wore black tights and flats with this instead of bare legs and strappy heels.

I’ve been given the chance again this year to do a review and even get to submit a wish list of my top three choices for Igigi to consider when deciding which garment to send me. When looking at the Igigi website for possibilities, my eyes of course gravitate first to my favorite color, purple. But since at least two-thirds of the Igigi pieces in my wardrobe are shades of purple (and most of the rest are black), I decided to look away from the purple for this review. After much pondering, I narrowed it down to these three possibilities, one of which I hope to debut during a night out with friends at the end of next month and review shortly thereafer.

At least I think that’s going to be my final list—I still have some time before I have to send it in. Maybe I should swap in the Jasmine Dress with its bold print skirt; that would stretch my fashion horizons. Or perhaps the Elsa Dress in Mystic Blue, which has a bold print top and bottom with just a little plummy purple in the middle to connect me with my style comfort zone.

If you’re so inclined, take a look at the Igigi site and/or the Look Book and let me know in the comments if you see any other choices you think I should consider, or what would be on your short list.
