I am now in Illinois and have seen my mom and all things considered she seems pretty good. She is still on oxygen but her breathing didn’t seem labored and she’s able to walk from room to room without assistance and was awake and sitting up the whole time I was there. Granted that was only several hours, but I’ll see a lot more of her tomorrow and can see how she does over a longer stretch. She certainly did not appear to need to be in the hospital or a nursing home like Rebecca insisted was the case when she called me back Monday night (maybe next time Rebecca should at least talk to if not actually visit the person in question before making such assertions). So at least for now I’m feeling relieved. I haven’t talked to my niece or my brother yet this visit; I’ll see them both tomorrow, at which point I may be all stressed out again.
